The Steiners were previously based near the farm six months of the year, but now they will be located closer to their New Jersey homes. The mother/daughter duo will bring 14 horses to Herslow’s 52-acre property located in the heart of Delaware Township. Upper Creek Farm includes more than 40 stalls, a large indoor arena, a covered European walker, two outdoor rings, an open riding field and direct access to the local trail association.
“Kim has created an environment where there are happy horses and happy people,” she said. “We’ve known her for a long time and we’ve admired her work ethic, her love for horses and the solid, correct training that’s taken her to international success. We are excited to bring our much-loved clients and horses to that environment of learning, interest and excitement coupled with an atmosphere of care and consideration for other people.”
The trainers are looking forward to combining their clients and students into a blended family for more fun and added support to cheer each other on. Herslow is already planning picnics when the weather improves in New Jersey, a practice she’s been doing for years.
She will leave her winter home in Wellington, Florida, for New Jersey the end of March and she said she is ready to welcome the Steiners when they migrate north in May.
“I’m looking forward to having Betsy and Jessie as part of the family at Upper Creek Farm,” she said. “I think it will be a positive, fun adventure this summer at home.”
Steiner agreed that this move was a no-brainer. “I think it’s going to be a great situation,” she said. “It’s girl power!”
